Judge Kelli Wise teen's photoJust like Judge Wise, her parents were active public servants. Her father was a Colonel in the U.S. Army and her mother was a devoted nurse. Judge Wise was born in Geneva, Alabama, and attended public schools in Dale and Autauga counties, graduating from Prattville High School.

Recognizing Judge Wise’s emphasis on family, Governor Bob Riley appointed Judge Wise to serve on the Alabama Juvenile Justice Task Force in January of 2003 and reappointed her to a second term in October of 2006.

Before Judge Wise was elected to the bench, she served as President of the Capital City Republican Women. Judge Wise was an active Young Republican, and was named National Young Republican of the Year in 1999.

Judge Kelli Wise young photoJudge Wise and her husband, Arthur Ray, have a beautiful 10 year old daughter, Hannah-Mathis. They keep busy with many civic organizations and are active members of St. James United Methodist Church, where Judge Wise teaches Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Biography
Judge Kelli Wise is currently the Presiding Judge on the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals where she has written and reviewed over 20,000 cases ranging from misdemeanor to capital murder. Judge Wise has a proven record as a fair and balanced judge. She believes that the role of a Judge is to interpret the law not create it.

Now Judge Wise wants to take her experience to the Alabama Supreme Court. Judge Wise is running for the open seat currently held by Justice Patti Smith. Judge Wise is a solid conservative, and she wants to take the values she learned growing up in a small town in Alabama to the highest court in our state.

Judge Kelli Wise baby photoPrior to being sworn in to the Court of Criminal Appeals in 2001, Judge Wise served as a staff attorney on the Alabama Supreme Court and on the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals. She also worked in the Governor's Legislative Office, served as legal counsel for ProStaff HRM, Inc., and was associated with the law firms of John Taber & Associates and Pittman, Pittman, Carwie & Fuquay.

Judge Wise received a B.S. in Biology, with a minor in Nursing, from Auburn University. Later she obtained her Juris Doctorate from Jones School of Law. While attending law school, Judge Wise interned in the Criminal Appeals Division of the Alabama Attorney General's Office. Judge Wise also holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Auburn University Montgomery.
